Silver Anniversary Campaign
.an important endowment campaign for the future of oncology nursing.

The Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Foundation was established in 1981 to provide funding for oncology nurses in key areas of research, scholarships, awards and educational programs.  Since that time, more than $19M has been distributed through the Foundation to support research, education, leadership, academic, lectureships, career development awards, cancer public education projects, ONS congress scholarships, Institutes of Learning, and Oncology Advanced Practice Nurse Conference Scholarships. Thousands of oncology nurses have benefited from this support.

Over the past three years, there has been a 46 percent increase in applicants requesting support from ONS Foundation to assist them in furthering their profession.  This increased demand for support, plus the unpredictability of annual external support, presents a challenge to the Foundation to grow endowment capacity to support its initiatives in a self-sustaining fashion.  To meet that challenge, the ONS Foundation Board of Trustees has set a goal to build our current endowment of $3.9M to $10M through a structure that includes general endowment funds, while creating three distinct endowment funds in key areas of education, research, and leadership.
