The Oncology Nursing Foundation allows you to give directly to nurses who specialize in cancer care and are dedicated to improving their patients’ outcomes. Our needs reflect the needs of today’s oncology nurses and help them address the complexities of cancer care.
- According to the Institute of Medicine’s Future of Nursing report, better educated nurses are linked to less medical errors. Unfortunately, the cost of education deters many who have the commitment, but not the means, to fulfill their career aspirations.
- Nursing research contributes to evidence-based practice, which results in the best possible care for the patient. Unfortunately, research funds, especially to support new insights into direct patient service, grow increasingly scarce.
- Nurse leadership is needed everywhere from the hospital boardroom to the college classroom to the clinic floor. Yet many potential nurse leaders do not have the financial resources to fulfill this growing need by themselves.
All gifts ensure that the next generation of oncology nurses will be there for all of us, in our greatest time of need.
We focus on three critical areas of funding (education, research, and leadership), and are delighted to help you support the area of greatest personal interest.
Honoring our Donors
The Oncology Nursing Foundation relies on individual, corporate, foundation, ONS chapter, and organizational donors to advance the mission of improving cancer care.
Each year, we recognize the Oncology Nursing Foundation Donor Circle, a committed group of individual donors who help to support oncology nursing by making annual gift(s) totaling $100 or more to the Foundation.
Your Donations At Work
Since our inception in 1981, the Oncology Nursing Foundation has provided more than $27 million to educate and empower our nurse members who work tirelessly at the point of patient contact as well as in research, education, and community leadership.
